I usually prefer 'kinksters' as a word (though it's a bit twee), but if we have Kinksters Wear Crimson it's going to clash with my hair, and Wear Pink for Kink Day would tread on gay rights' toes. Realistically, however much some people dislike it, the alliterative punch of 'Perverts wear purple' is going to win through for the foreseeable future. The thing that would change that would not be a post on 'why I don't like using the word pervert', even if it's the most articulate and incisive post ever. It would be someone coming up with a slogan that avoids the 'pervert' problem while being as catchy and comprehensible as the original. If you don't like Perverts Wear Purple, then the best way of persuading the people behind it to change the slogan for next year would be to find a better alternative. I've tried and I can't.

It's more about the colour, the attitude and the unification. The wording isn't the important part. It's National Fetish Day. The Perverts Wear Purple part is more of a tagline.
