In Afflecks Palace has a superb sale on all of their corsets until the end of this month, as the lease for the building hasn't been renewed and they haven't found alternative premises. Please ensure however, that no one buy the 24'' red vollers one - I have my eye on it. | ||

I hope it does sort itself out as there is nothing else quite like it in town. Cant imagine the rent coming from the small independents being anywhere near what they would recieve from turning it into flats or offices though.

I was in Afflecks today and most of the traders were literally giving their stock away. None of them held out any hope of being saved. The final judgement will happen on the 19th January (so I was told). It is a real shame that this is happening to Afflecks, and it is a somewhat ironic end to a special chapter in Manchester's history. If it were not for the presence of Affleck's Palace, the Northern Quarter of Manchester would never have developed as well as it has. Yet it is the very success of the area that is killing the Palace, as the building can now support far more profitable business than small independent traders. Just heard about Afleck's real shame about that place closing down, that will be the last shop to purchase quality items in Manchester  anyone remember the shop on cross street, I bought my first bondage gear from that shop, (can't remember the name of it?) |
