As many people do, I tend to reflect over New Year. I actually reflect a lot, it is just part of who I am, but more than usual this time of year.
Eighteen months ago, I had no idea how my life would be today. Sometime in the second half of July 2006, I had a memo on IC from a female sub. I don't get many, so I was pleased, but I did not think much of it and never really thought it would go anywhere, but it was still nice. I replied to her memo, she sent back, which led to "tennis memos" for a while. Soon, we chatted on the phone and then on webcam. We swapped pictures and texts. I started to get to like her as much as is possible for someone that I had never met.
We arranged to meet on 10th August 2006. I was immediately overwhelmed by her physical/sexual presence. I was though determined not to fall in love or get too attached. Everything seemed so right.
Dawn came over on 19th of August, only our third meeting. The next day, I took Dawn to my favourite place/event, the BBB. We decided to make a go of things; I had already fallen for her.
One of the best friends that I have ever had is an ex partner/sub. I really hoped that this would not cause any problems. I talked to Dawn about this and she was OK. We went to the September Stourbridge Munch and picked my friend up on the way. I am so pleased that they got on well and have become very good friends themselves.
On 20th October, I gave Dawn something very small and cheap, but something that I had never given anyone before; A key to my house. When she visited, Dawn normally got to my house before I got home from work. She would sit and read her book while she waited. As it was getting colder and darker, I thought it better that she could make herself a drink and sit in the warmth, light and comfort.
A week later, we went to see Dawn's family up north. We had both been finding spending the time apart more and more difficult, and Dawn had spoken to me about moving nearer to me. I had thought about it for a while. I had decided when my marriage broke up that I would not live with anyone else. But again, Dawn being so special made me change my mind. I said why just move closer, why not move in.
During December 2006 we moved in together. We have only spent two nights apart since. We have become known as a couple at the many Play Events, Socials, Markets and Munches that we attend.
We spend our first Christmas and New Year together. I have never been a great fan of Christmas (Not since childhood anyway), but it was so lovely to have the time off work and spend quality time together.
2007 Arrived
February, I went back to my substantive post at work, after acting up in various posts for three and a half years. The drop in money was bad, but I was so bored; I just could not get into it.
Easter Monday 2007. I woke up with a pain in the middle of my chest. I had been coughing a lot due to a cold/chest infection and attributed it to that. We went for a pizza and a walk around Edgbaston Reservoir. I usually feel better after a bit of fresh air, but by about half way around, I could hardly breathe or walk. I have to carry on, or walk back; either is about the same in distance. I carry on with lots of rests. I tell Dawn that I suspect that it is a heart problem and have to go to the hospital. For the first time in 30 years, I am admitted to hospital. The entire team, including the cardiologist think that I have had a heart attack. The next day, my ECG is worse and I am taken for an Angiogram. I was fascinated by seeing my heart on the screen, but very happy to learn that I have inflammation of the heart lining and a course of anti-inflammatory will sort me out.
On my birthday (31st March), we went to Worcester for the day. I bumped into a lovely young lady that we met at the M42 Munch. Her sub is in a shop and mine is looking at a market stall. We have a good chat for the first time and get on well.
20th April, a special day for two reasons. Dawn and I went to the wedding of a special scene friend. It was like a summers day, really hot and sunny (pity it was only like this for a couple of weeks in the spring and autumn this year). The wedding and reception went like a dream, or so it seemed at the time. I only found out later that things happened to upset another good friend  . I am though very pleased for the couple involved and hope that they have a fantastic future together.
Secondly, Dawn and I were asked to act as a safe call for my friend/ex (see above). We agreed, but said to have a backup as we would need to turn our phones off for the wedding. As it happened, she met her friend from IC and it went very well. I am glad to say that they are still together and the four of us are now good friends  .
1st May, go to see the Australian Pink Floyd (first time for Dawn, second for me), they were awesome. I only wish that I could see the real thing.
16th May, we had another fantastic concert, this time Meat Loaf.
2nd June and probably influenced by the meeting on my Birthday, we went to a party at the fabulous Dungeon W. This dungeon is certainly worth looking into. A fabulous place.
10th August, we celebrated our Anniversary with a meal out and then a night out at Velvet Eden, What a fantastic year  .
Two days later, the best Birthday Party that we have ever been to, also at Caesars. We both had such a fantastic time.
The beginning of September, our first holiday together. We had two days in Plymouth and three in Newquay. We really had a fantastic time and the weather was so good to us.
28th October, we went to an amazing wedding of two very special friends. We first met these people at the M42 munch, but got to know them at the Dungeon W Party. The wedding was in a castle and I have never seen a better setting for a wedding in my life. Despite some people trying to spoil things for them, this was indeed a fantastic day for them and all concerned.
5th November, I get a sideways temporary move at work. Very little increase in pay, but a much better and more interesting job.
I could write pages about the BBB, I always enjoy it. As everything, it varies from month to month, but I have never been to a bad one. The November one stands out though as a particularly good one. Part of the reason is that we met such a huge number of friends and acquaintances there, the atmosphere was fantastic and the whole thing worked so well. Another reason though was a little scene that we did. Anyone who remembers Dawn's t-shirt will know what I'm talking about.
We had to miss the December BBB, only the second that I have missed in about 4 years. Although I was sad to miss it, we really enjoyed the party that we went to. It was a family/vanilla party, but it was for some very special people.
Dawn and I have been poorly over Christmas, the dreaded lurgey. It was still fantastic though to spend my time with Dawn. It has been a quiet one, but that is what we wanted. We both finished work on the 21st December and go back on 2nd January, our longest break of the year.
We are now looking forward to two special friends joining us tomorrow afternoon and all four of us going to Caesars to celebrate the New Year.

Lovely and heart warming. I wish you both a fab 2008 I remember the time I was kidnapped and they sent a piece of my finger to my father. He said he wanted more proof.

Wonder if that's me you are on about? Even if it's not I'm taking the credit!
Both of you are two of my very best friends and I am so very pleased that you have, mostly, had a good 2007 and I hope that 2008 is even better for you
