Hive and I have a good selection of old films and every now and then we pull the sofa up open a bottle of wine and watch one.

Tonight was "The China Syndrome" with champers, wonderful cheese and crackers and home made mince pies for me and jam pies for Him. He don't like mince pies.

Last night it was "Where Eagles Dare" with red wine and Malteasers.

Well I have to admit that last night I did not sleep that well. I was over excited a night early. So I have this theory that as I did not sleep last night cos I was over excited that tonight I just may sleep. Champers and G & T may help.

I have always loved Christmas. I can remember when money was so tight that we bought our kids toys from the second hand shop. No ebay or car boots back then. I can remember Christmases when illness haunted our house but we made the best of it for the kids and found myself floating along on the happy sound of kids laughter.

Now it is just me and Him. We love it, just the two of us. Tomorrow we will spend the morning with my parents even though we would prefer to spend it in bed snuggling.

We will have Christmas day just the two of us. Most probably naked and not taking it all very serious.

Then we will open presents. Making the excitement linger as long as possible.

Then Boxing day is the first of several family days.

I know there are many people who find Christmas tiresome or feel lonely and unloved at this time of year.

I can only send them my very best wishes that next year will be different and that they are able to find some of what I have been lucky enough to have.

Merry Christmas to everyone on IC.

Old films can be cool. Where Eagles Dare is a classic and I saw that a few weeks back. Watched the Great Escape yesterday. Charade and North By Northwest are always worth a watch as well. And I just watched Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, which is an old film as it was the first of the 3 so was done a while back. Although it's not as old as the first Matrix film.
