I've been trying to find out about these - specifically the Hotshot Model B12 - and I came across this. Does anyone know anything about these? http://groups.msn.com/SYNDICAOSSUORUM Edited Sat 22 Dec 07, 10:40 AM by Mr_Bone

Only that they are totally illegal in the UK as they are classed as stun guns

They are illegal in the UK as a cattle prod, however, extremerestraints sell them as 'shock prods' and I have verified with them that they will ship to the UK (cattle prod stockists abroad will not). I guess they get around the law by offering it as an electro play toy. Whether it would actually arrive in the UK is another matter entirely and as yet, while interested in ordering, haven't actually done so.

Here is a quote from the HMRC website: "It is also against the law to import: High voltage electric 'stun guns'." I have just asked a friend who works for the above and he confirmed that anything capable of delivering and electric shock capable of causing damage or 'stunnig' would not only be seized but the person it was sent to would be interviewed by the police for attempting to import such an item. Make no mistake, these things are highly dangerous, and the link in the OP has a line that mentions one being used on the head - instant ECT anyone? Applied anywhere else on the body it would have the same effect as a stun gun, therefore it is an illegal weapon. Electro play devices cannot 'stun' anyone as the voltage is too low. And by 'stun' I mean render incapable of movement or cognative thought or unconsciousness. 'stun' guns of any type work becuase the energy stored in the gun is transferred into the attacker's muscles, placing a tremendous demand on the muscles. This demand instantly depletes the attacker's blood sugar by converting it to lactic acid. In short, he is unable to produce energy for his muscles, and his body is unable to function properly. On a strictly personal level I am utterly appalled that anyone would want to use one of these prods on a sub or slave as while deaths may be extremely rare (although there are known to be over 70 in the US and Canada) serious and long lasting effects are quite common, and if the person it was used on was restrained then there is the possibility of muscle and tendon damage and even, in some cases, broken bones. Make no mistake, those who use torture to extract information use devices with a similar voltage and these are the sort of injuries that can occur.

by law it is classed as a firearm. there is a way you can get them into uk if you break it into a non working form then send the bits that are missing in on a 2nd parcel but you will still be nicked for a firearm if you bulid it back up again. But they are very very unsafe even the firearm police can only use when they are told too. Also a very big warning IC posts come up with google so police and customs can track you. and I know IC will suport the police over this to track your isp and ip. http://www.clubantichrist.com the 2nd coming Feb 29th 2008 Sin in Charing Cross. I'm not planning on ordering one - perish the thought - I just wondered whether anyone had any experience of this kind of thing. The young lady above who mentioned that she had considered ordering one from Extreme Restraints is obviously quite disturbed or simply playing the fool. There are many dangerous techniques and topics discussed on this site, but I'm positive that no one actually practices any of them. That would be ridiculous!

Which is all very interesting but that's not what stock prods do: they just hurt - a lot. You can see the effect of these "Hot Shot" style prods by doing a search for "cattle prod" on You Tube, or look at Insex footage of their use. In several of both the You Tube and Insex videos, people get shocked, scream, and then hold still for another go. If you think for a second what they're designed to do (make a pig, which is very similar to a human in size, go the way the stockman wants) it's obvious they are not like tasers or stun guns which are designed to immobilise people so the police can deal with them.
