When Your World Falls Apart (39)

Two weeks ago, my father died suddenly in his sleep. He was 64. My Mum phoned me at 5.20 in the morning and I went into complete shock. I was screaming and screaming. It does seem rather vague now.
I packed and travelled as fast as I could north to be with my mother. My poor Mum, she looked so small, so frightened, so utterly heartbroken. Denial, I think that's the best way to describe how we all felt. Even after two weeks, I still can't quite accept that I'll never see him again. I'll never be able to laugh with him and I need to hear his voice and I'd rip the sky in two just to spend one more minute with him.
I love my Dad. He was a loving father and later a dear and trusted friend. I admired and respected him and always I will feel proud to have known him. He achieved so much and he embraced life with a joy that was glorious to be around.
He died without pain or fear, and that is a comfort I cling to. I just wish he had longer, but none of us know how long we have.
I love you, Dad. Thank you for the wonder of knowing you. I shall miss you till the day I die.

lots of extra bamboo for you!
xxx And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.

someone very dear to me passed suddenly in his sleep almost 2 years ago and i well know that feeling of wanting to rip the sky in half, just to have a few more precious minutes.... time doesn't take away the missing, but hang in there - eventually it will all become a little easier to cope with. for now, there's little anyone can say or do, but perhaps it helps to know that you are not alone, and that so many others understand and care. |

I am really sorry for your loss. I know it's not much comfort, but be aware that despite the pain you feel, you are fortunate to have had the relationship you had with him - something that is denied many people.
Sending best wishes to you and your mother. |

Sending you lots of hugs Flaire. Its a very hard time, one that will see you experience so many conflicting emotions. I lost my dad 5 years ago and I miss him terribly. The pain doesnt go away, but you learnt to live with it.
My thoughts are with you and your family, hang in there.
m xx Submission - a place of peace, happiness and acceptance. Please Sir, spank me.....
