It feels ever-more like I'm in it, with today providing yet two more reasons.
I got to see one of mt 'big two' musical acts a couple of weeks back; Queens of the Stone Age. And now, when I book tickets later tonight, in February, I'm going to get to see the other; The Smashing Pumpkins.
Given that I thought to even see one of them would take a scary amount of money and a trip to London, I'm currently pinching myself to make sure I'm awake ![]()
The other reason from today might not be as spectacular, but it's no less pleasing in its own right...
In the grand scheme of things it's a non-event, especially as it doesn't even count towards marks for the 'You only need to pass, nothing else really counts' first year, but I got my first Uni essay back today. Without going into too much detail here, I'm really really happy at the outcome. It's shown that I can more than hold my own amongst my peers if nothing else ![]()
Who knows, at some point I might actually feel somewhat confident in my abilities! ![]()

Shhhh, humility is the way to go. It's a cunning way to subvert the possibility of potentially embarrassing back-pedalling later When a man loves a woman it should be understood, | |

I dunno. At Oxford there was always an acceptable niche for the arrogant annoying intellectual alpha male type who thinks he's brilliant and unfortunately actually is too. Then again, you do have to be a) arrogant and annoying and b) occasionally get pulled up short. This may not play to your strengths or inclinations.
