Hades Aftermath

I hate to say this but what a disappointment!

It was far too small, people were standing/sitting/leaning against the equipment and not giving others chance to use it.

It was hot and clammy and towards the end of the night the 'loud' room stank.

I've always enjoyed Hades but not tonight.

So.. What did others think?

If you hate to say it, why say it in the first place?

You only get out of an event what you put in. Pretty obvious that some people put a lot more in than others. Seems to be that there is a direct link between those that put very little in to an event and those that do the most moaning.

Many thanks to Danny, Maria, Richard and the Hades crew. I know you all worked bloody hard to put the event together under very testing circumstances. You did very well and I appreciate your efforts.

Master Chopper.

The "blind-folded angel" was led past me, several times... now I know why I didn't recognise you and you didn't come and say hi.... :(

Maybe we will have another opportunity to meet, another time.

I'm sure you felt blessed by the mere brushing of my plumage. But yes, t'would be lovely to actually see you, or hear you, or ........ ;) xx

I have to say I enjoyed myself, met some very friendly people, and had lots of fun!

It was my first Hades (well, first london club to be honest), but compared to previous clubs in other parts of the country, it was very nice!

(and i got to be one of the 30 :D:D)

We fully appreciate that our customers come first and that the effort that goes into dress, travel and even accommodation arrangements so that you can come out and have a good night. The least you should expect is our absolute best, unfortunately last night parts of that service were lacking. We expect no loyalty because at the end of the day you are all paying customers and to earn your custom we have to work to deserve it. It is and was not our intention to change the format of what gave Hades it's reputation and we had already announced that we are putting our nights back to quarterly. http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/boards/ukevents....

Hades Dark is a seperate venture from Hades and after last nights frustration with the venue management, Danny is now looking for a new venue for this night

Hades realise that a large venue is needed to retain our reputation and we will be taking the time out to consider whether we stay in London central or move further out in order to secure what we need

It is that attitude and dedication that makes Hades such a great club and a name that I and many others will continue to look for. Let's hope we can find a venue that deserves you!

Hades has always had our support and we've recommended it to many people, so I'll thank you not to make assumptions regarding our motivations.

Feedback is always difficult to put over in a way that makes everyone happy, but this sort of snide slamming of those who actually venture to raise a criticism lowers my previously high estimation of you Chopper.

As for there being only an hour to set up, I certainly wasn't aware of it at the time - and it's a little hard to make allowances for something that you aren't aware of. Hades sets a standard but the venue is part and parcel of the overall product as Maria has already commented.

Pain looks good on other people, it's what they're for.

It was my first night at Hades, and indeed at any London Club, so I have nothing to compare it to.

My impressions were that there was a lot of equipment (although not all of it got used that much - some pieces seemed to be constantly in use, others hardly at all), a choice of rooms and spaces, some with music some without, which I thought would have satisfied most people.

I found some people very friendly and welcoming to a newby (which was great), while others didn't seem that interested when I attempted to strike up conversations - I was little surprised when that happened more than once.

Space was bit tight at times with all the people, but that was similar to my experience at Obedience School in Aberdeen back in May, when over 400 people showed up on the night!

It was good to meet some people whose profiles and posts I've seen here on IC, and now reading the post-event posts there are others whom I'd have liked to have met, but either didn't recognise or didn't have an opportunity to speak to.

Not sure when I'll get to another Hades, because of where I live, but I trust the teething troubles that some people have identified will be sorted easily, and I'd like to appreciate the good intentions and hard work that I sense so many people, including the organisers and house dommes, put into making it the best night possible. Thanks!

Silklover2 :)
