Following on from these threads: http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/boards/activism... and http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/boards/generalb... What is your favourite example of BDSM in mainstream TV? There has been a lot more overt discussions/examples of BDSM play of late, some shown favourably, some not but my particular favourites have been CSI, frankly Lady Heather rocks, Secret Diary of a Call Girl had an intelligent approach IMO to Domination, my only gripe would be the lack of good Male Doms on TV, Femme Domme in general seems to be 'safer' and more socially acceptable. (Yes I'm aware there was a Male Dom on CSI too but he was a nutter). So... what did you see that made your BDSM bits tingle? Anything from Corrie or East Enders? <G> deelish x Yes, I do realise my gob is writing cheques my arse can't cash, but I have a very accomodating banker.

I rather enjoyed seeing Howard dressed as a slave when the strange blue people thought Vince was The Chosen One...

I seem to remember a scene in one of the few episodes of Doc Martin I've watched - in fact, an entire narrative thread - in which a couple had an accident while playing. The man's shoulder dislocated, or something. So Doc Martin gets called to their house, goes into the bedroom with the guy still tied to a frame, at which point there's an exchange, something along the lines of: Doc Martin: I assume this is consensual? Wife: Consensual? 'E loves it.

There was a brief series on ITV a while ago (the name of which escapes me - doh!) that was about sex therapists, and it touched briefly on hardcore S&M. Unfortunately it went down the typical route of it being hugely negative and unhealthy, but it was nice while it lasted. "When you're going through hell, keep going."

You are far too young to have seen the show yourself but maybe someone has mentioned Blake's 7 to you. The main " baddie " was a character called Servalan who would have made an amazing Domme. She had more ways to torture and kill than you could shake a stick at. There's one scene where Servalan has been captured by dissidents. She is chained, kneeling, to a brick wall. Her clothes are in disarray, her bosom heaving. Avon, her arch enemy, stands over her, not knowing whether to shoot her or ravish her. It is such an atmospheric scene and stirred very strange feelings in a 21 year old Jock at a time when there was no such thing as a fetish " scene " in Glasgow. There's a cracking pic on my profile which says it all, I think.

Hi.
Wasn't she wonderful!
She has been a positive influence on you then ( lol ).
Apparently, Jaqueline Pearce ( who played her ) is living in Africa, saving monkeys. Paul Darrow ( who played her nemesis, Avon, is advertising mobility scooters!
Glad someone else remembers the good old days.
