Well... that was hairy!
I have to say some people are ever so kind...
We got stuck at an incline... the car just would not crawl up the hill and there was this gentleman trudging towards us offering to give us a push - uphill!
In the end we did have to ditch the car as it was just spinning wheels and it's not good when you find yourself traversing the dual carriageway --- horizontally!!!
He (and lady friend) gave us a lift to the top of our road... I had to stomp around in harry's boots as my own heels were completely impractical (glad that I hadn't made him wear high heels too!)
Tommorow will be interesting...

Not suprised you had trouble- it was chaos getting out of Birmingham when we left and then it was just turning from sleet to snow. Hope you got the car back now. "I'm not jealous- just bitter and twisted

Of course, if you were into steel restraints instead of rope, I'd have improvised some snow chains out of the contents of the toybag That passing chap was a real good samaritan - if perchance you're a closet ICer..thanks!
I'll never regret this, ...although I may rue and lament it

Yes he really was good! The snow went and by 10am it was to a point where we were able to set out and retrieve the abandoned vehicle. We hadn't done too badly in our attempts to "park" it and it wasn't sticking out too badly.(I say our but I had nothing to do with it - it was the menfolk who did the grunt work) Lets hope there isn't a repeat of it this weekend though... -- A Kervert Pinky |
