Was supposed to have a quick leaving drink with two colleagues who were leaving the office. All was planned well in advance - and tonight the proverbial hit the fan, we had to work until the bars had closed, and the whole shebang was cancelled.
Moral of the story - if you verbalize plans to anyone, they will go hideously wrong. Next time, when I decide to have a leaving drink with anyone, I won't tell a soul. Not even the person leaving

This is why you should always carry round bottles of spirits as if you were some kind of alcoholic. You never know when they will come in handy :D | |

I know!! But as drinking at work would lead to an instant dismissal and an enforced trip to the occupational health unit for 'a chat', well, I'm too much of a chicken to risk it. I drank coffee and gritted my teeth instead!
We shall try to re-schedule anyway. Besides, it was quite good it never happened - I'm still trying to avoid one colleague like a plague..the bastard. You know when someone just annoys the hell out of you for no reason..? "Give up your body to such sweet uncleanness"

I have no idea what you mean. And those shallow graves out in the forest are nothing to do with me. If it's any consolation, I'll have a drink on your behalf... not that I need more booze. I swear, the furniture will be having conversations with me if I have any more. |
