I was speaking to a friend, and she told me that a few years ago a local nightclub (NG1) used to have a couple of fetish nights until the local council stopped them because they didn't feel it fitted the city's "image". Is this myth, or are they really that harsh? It would explain why there's nothing like that in the city. whisper | ||

That's pretty funny considering Nottingham is widely considered (wrongly in my opinion) to be the gun crime capital of the UK. Some image, eh? | ||

Well I actually talked to one of the people who ran the Lushlove night at NG1 club, I was told that the owners of the NG1 club told the orangiser that the day was not Gay enought..... Oky fair enough, the club night moved to the old Carbret night club around the corner..ish.. but Nottingham City Council does seem to have a Zero tollerance approach to BDSM nights in Notingham and I actually have to travel to Derby for my kinky ness at the moment, Dominion at the Curzons night club and Carnival of Souls event Will you follow me into the Darkness, will you follow me into the Fire | ||

That seems a bit odd, since NG1 has weekly student/straight nights. I have that problem too, I've moved here and apart from the monthly munch there's no scene whatsoever. So I asked around and someone said that the council had cracked down on it. | ||

No I thought that was shown on BBC 1 a few months back as being in Sneinton and it's just one street of Student accomodation, I'm living in St Anns and not had any break ins at all......... and no real crime has ever been near me...... although that maight be to do with me being 6 fot two and built like a brick sh*t house

Lived in sneinton for a few years, just round the corner from NG1... don't recall any fetish night, i'd have been down there like a shot if there was one! Also, was this meaning a BDSM night, or a kink-for-public-consumption sort of thing? And gods, yes, Nottingham is a hell-hole! My id is throbbing. | ||

Some years ago, I helped Roissy Workshops DM a club at one of the Nottingham football club bars. It lasted about 2 months before, if I remember correctly, pressure was brought to bear on the club by the council voicing doubts that the club would get its drinks license renewed.
