Without a doubt (in previous lives) i've been known to party with the best of them, however i freely admit to being a complete novice when it comes to being a "BDSM socialite".
Age and maturity (Ha!) had already started to have a calming effect on me prior to my meeting Tanos (that and the fact that recovering from Saturday nights increasingly seemed to be seeping into monday mornings!)
Our meeting and my disappearing into obscurity (not that i had ever really developed much of a scene presence anyway) suited me down to the ground. The whole enslavement process was enough of a rollercoaster ride without the social whirlwind that the scene may have become for me. i've never had a strong desire to become Miss Popular...i'm far too shy for that...i think that social acceptance is desirable enough for my submissive nature.
Anyway, i digress..
Over the past few weeks Tanos and i have ventured (back) into the BDSM social scene and i've found myself completely suprised by a number of things.
The first suprise was just how much is going on around us! (i know how strange that must sound coming from someone who is so closely linked with IC - but to be honest i have to be pretty selective in what i choose to read in my spare time!)
The second suprise is how many people have made a point of saying hello, its really nice, although somewhat overwhelming that people i have never met before know me by name if not always by sight.
The third suprise is how much i've enjoyed getting dressed up to go out. Tanos and i tend to be art/cinema/museum people and there's simply not much call for "glamming up" for these kind of outtings. Having the opportunity to dress up to go out has been great fun - i think i've finally discovered what women like about shopping for clothes! (although, somehow i can't see me asking my mother over to go shopping in some of the clothes shops i've been in lately!)
The fourth, and the best suprise for me, is how many great people i've met over the past few weeks and what good company we've found ourselves in amongst.
i'm not really sure how to finish this weblog. To those i've met, saying thanks for being yourselves seems somewhat cliche, thanks for being "interesting" a little bland...well..perhaps i should just leave it as it is....and just say thank you.
