What a day! 
I had my one hour of the weeks timetabled academia today, on feminist philsophy. Specifically the first of three lectures around the fairly massive issue of pornography.
And to illustrate one theory on it, specifically the theorised difference between pornography and erotica by the alternative definitions given, a couple of pictures were included in the lecture. The 'pornographic' image was a fairly stereotypical advert from a magazine for jeans.....
The 'erotica' in this case? An explicit still shot of a man sucking cock.
There was the usual load of tittering that's probably expected, but some of the gasps and comments of shock were such you'd think that there was a live demo of it going on up on the stage at the front of the lecture hall. It took a good few minutes for the room to settle again.
I know I'm a bit older than the average student, and that theoretically my horizons are broader than the average too because of my own sexual nature (aka - being into BDSM), but is it really something to be shocked and/or stunned about? Still, the hubbub around it all made me smile a bit 
The knife play? Well, I got to experience a cutting!
Sadly it was by my own hand as I slipped chopping an onion when someone slamming a door somewhere along the corridor made me jump a little, and as a result I took a tiny sliver out off one of my fingers...
Just think, if one day can bring so much excitment, how much the weekend could hold!
