Yet another example of “nilla” intolerance!!
I have been thinking for a while about getting the contents of my playroom insured. Over the years I have amassed quite a large collection of toys and equipment and it never seems to stop growing. Before I went away for Christmas I packed and locked everything away as I always do when I am leaving the house empty, and it got me thinking about how I would feel if I came home to find the house had burned down, and how I would replace it all.
Since I came home I have done an inventory and valuation of my collection, some 821 individual items and a value that exceeded my own estimate and made my eyes water, lets just say I could buy a very nice new car for that amount of money.
So I phoned the company that provides my home contents insurance and after being held in a Q for ages finally got to talk to a customer service representative. I asked very politely whether I could be covered for the contents of my playroom explaining in broad terms what they were, on this policy. At first there was silence…. then I was asked to repeat my request…..more silence, then “your joking right?” “no” says I “I'm serious” …..click …the phone goes dead.
Does anyone out there have their toys insured and if so who with?
