for a day.
Since I've had two days with a fair bit of travel with them today and yesterday. I decided to take the chance to pop back home to see people, mostly family, for the first time since moving away. Works on the line meant a slightly longer journeys than it should have been, but that was no bad thing.
The idea was to spend time reading, and a little note taking. Instead, I did the reading, note taking, and fully planned out the essay I have on the go. Which will, after a quick trip to the library tomorrow to grab another couple of things, pretty much write itself now.
That grabbing has to be done tomorrow though, as on tuesday I'm back on the rails; this time heading south to London. The plan is more train-based work, time with some good people, and a guest-speaker lecture at one of the Universities. Oh, and a tuesday afternoon to fill somehow, but that bit should be easy enough! 
So all in all it's looking like a few days filled with actually putting 'down-time' to good use, enjoyable times doing the things planned with people, and just generally a nice, relaxing kind of time because of having that big step towards work being done now...
I have to say though, although it was 'home' I visited, it's actually felt kinda nice to get back down here today

Gah, I'm sorry about Tues afternoon. If you fancy trooping down to sarf London you could probably sit in on my lecture and seminar if you wanted, but I'm afraid it's going to be on Heidegger. but woohoo! You will be our first house guest. Hopefully we'll sort the living room out a bit tomorrow evening so it's less of a maze of wires and boxes of books. Thank goodness for upcoming birthday shelves... |
