We went this Sunday too, from about 8pm until it closed. It was our first visit to the club and we were shown around by a really friendly woman who pointed out the private areas, places to change etc and also some do's and don'ts. The venue wasn't very well attended, but that did mean that we were able to use a private area and the equipment when we wanted to, which was a plus. No it's not a traditional dungeon set up and obviously normally a pole dancing venue, but ever versatile on Sunday the pole was used to tie someone to. We had a lovely play ourselves and did enjoy the evening. |

Club Severine is a very friendly club - no dungeon monitors are needed and every club has wanky men it just so happens Severine has fewer of them. I am a regular visitor to Club Severine, I never had my car interfered with or my girlfriend - much to her annoyance! You haven't made one valid criticism - if you are trying to make a career out of reviewing clubs it was hardly a fair or balanced critique - choose another career and let us real pervs get on with it.

No Dungeon Monitors needed? In a club setting I think they're essential.

If someone posts comments on this site peaching as they were the expert on all fetish clubs they have the right to be criticised. They have got to be prepared for replies that do not coincide with their own. The writer seem to arrive at the club already prepared to do a hachett job on it. It obviously wasn't her scene but Severine has its own character like Caesars and Scarlett - each one attracts a different kind of perv. Xtasia was OK, my partner and I enjoyed it particularly the sofas upstairs and the blue movies but it was a big club to fill and I never saw more than a dozen people there unlike Severine where you seem to have around a hundred people on a good night all getting stuck in - not standing around looking terrified. The only club I've ever seen more action was Club Wicked which is now defunct - alas! Edited 26 Oct 07, 9:51 PM by slave_id

You have the right to criticise and challenge the views, but not the person.
I 95% agree with the OP, but what I find most frustrating is it would take absolutely minimal effort and no extra cost to make a vast improvement.
My partner and I still occasionally go to the club, but we would go much more often and get a lot more enjoyment from it if these changes were made.

I agree at most clubs DM's are needed but that would be overkill at Severine. The clientele are well behaved - I've never seen any trouble there on the numerous times we've been. Most DM's are on a power trip of their own and confuse monitoring with bossing people around and usually end up offending people. There is a guy constantly wonder around with a shaven head and built like a refridgerator he is obviously the owner or chief of security and he looks like he could handle anything. Severine might be lacking in certain areas but security is definitely not one of them. |

I think you will find if you check that severine does use DMs Jonathon and his lovely wife fill this role when they are able to attend the club, commitments in the real world mean they cannot attend every party, the house Mistresses are friendly, but better lighting ,different music ,and the equipment spaced out more evenly giving more room to play are comments most people attending the parties state, the reason for the blogs is not meant as negative critism but so the party can be improved. d Edited 29 Oct 07, 8:49 PM by subdawn

Thanks Dawn! It really is too bad we weren't able to attend Oct. Severine.
To the OP, I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience. Any misbehavior is usually nipped in the bud by us or John.
A few Severines back I had about a 2 hour play session with another lady, and we weren't disturbed by anyone.
Unfortunately we won't be able to attend the Nov. event either, but ought to be back in December.

Interesting discussion can see some of the critisms being fair and others not so.
Severin was the first club we had been to, when we went in September and then we went to Hades in October.
I found Severin safe and comfortable and friendly my sub preferred Hades because many more people - I found it a little cliquey but the show was brilliant (we both agreed).
You take your choices and as long as you feel safe and not over charged you need to try to make the best scene you can. This is why I enjoyed Severin – perhaps not in the right mood for Hades.
Going to FLESH Saturday now that will be another experience I am sure.

We sent an email after the event and didn't even have the courtesy of a reply so decided not to support it further. |
I have to admit that out of courtesy and respect to the organisers of Club Severine , I sent an email detailing my experience and a link to this weblog so they can view the original post and replies.
I have had no reply as of yet !

Well, it sounds like a mixed view but most people have complaints. I write in view of clubs in general here really...
It is very difficult to run a club, even a small one. However people shouldn't be put in danger and I do agree that at least one DM or equivelent should be evident. Even small friendly clubs can have the occasional niggle.
One of the biggest gripes I have is that most people who have a problem do not mention it to organizers on the night but wait and then complain at a later date. If you try to solve the problem on the night and nothing is done to improve the situation then this is very justified, but I do feel anybody who is unhappy with the situation should try and complain at the time - as in with the dungeon lighting which, unfortunately, was refused to be turned up.
Maybe clubs that cause debate should have a suggestions box in place so that if there are some comments to be made they can be made easily. Many people won't complain face to face to an organizer after all. Also these suggestions should all be taken on board and any problems acted upon.
If there are not enough staff to DM or show peole around, etc... recruit a few decent souls who will do this just for free entry. Support is essential in running such an event.
I hope this club improves and gains a better reputation. The mention of low attendence is concerning and I am sure there will be quite a few people who will miss it when it is gone. Miss Kitty
