To live is to experience change. We are born, grow old and die, that is change enough, but it's the experiences in between that make us what we are.
Some changes are harder to encompass than others, some creep up on us unawares. We look back and think, "Goodness, when did that happen?" Our children are suddenly grown. Surely it was only yesterday that they started primary school, and now, in a blink of the eye they are at University or in full-time work. Our elderly parents are buying mobility aids and the need for a good pension plan for ourselves suddenly seems more pressing.
Abrupt change is always the hardest and most shocking to take in. The loss of a loved one, a life-threatening illness, an unexpected change of career. Most people, being the eminently adaptable creatures that we are, get knocked down, roll with the punches and come up fighting.
And sometimes it is not so easy. When those you love are struggling on it's so hard not to feel a degree of responsibility. Which is not only egotistically vain, but patently ridiculous. We women do 'guilt' so well, at least I do!
This blog is far too melancholy (I hate Sundays, they always make me feel blue!) so I shall cheer all you perverts up by saying Ouch!!! I just knocked my new nipple piercing!! F**k!
PS I've just done a spell check and apparently F**k isn't a misspelling!
