"If you play with fire you're going to get burned"
What a cliché you say, dear reader. Unfortunately, like all clichés it's true. You set off on a dangerous road, and like all travellers hope to come to safe harbour at the end of it.
On the way are the metaphorical bandits of life, who can mug you and leave you for dead, but oh no, it won't happen to me. I know all the dangers, I've calculated the risks, it won't happen to me. I know to avoid the high passes where the dragons lurk. Humph!
This is the point where Murphy's law comes into play- if it can go wrong it will go wrong! So I've played the game and got my metaphorical fingers burned, and serve me right too!
Ah, but the journey as far as it got, was exquisite. Such interesting views along the way, dazzling vistas and dark caverns. Something to write home about.
And the next time I hear a clichéd warning, will I take more notice? Probably not. You see, I know all the dangers, I know where the dragons lie and how to avoid the bandits...and I am human.

Knowing where the dragons fly won't keep you safe from harm...it just means that when you want to look them in the eye or feel their breathe on your face, you know where to go to find them! You are right of course.....it is human nature to not listen to that voice inside us....the wanting, the yearning, the desire, for what ever experience it is...can be an intoxicating mix that leads many a poor human to their fate. *hugs* BV In this tainted soul In this weak young heart Am I too much for you |
