This time next week I'll be home. I've had such a fantastic time over the last three and a half months, experiencing things that I never thought I would get to. I have learned so much about a different culture and about myself, things I never even realised existed.
Going back a few years, I know I would not have found the courage to go on this journey, to find solutions to the obstacles, to find the inner strength to cope with periods of wretched loneliness, to believe in myself when faced with the professional dilemmas I have had to overcome.
How proud am I of myself that my seed of self belief has flourished – through nurturing from loved ones and dear friends alike – but most of all through my own hard work and determination. I am amazed at what it is possible to achieve and how fulfilling it can be as I am now able to give myself permission to feel that I deserve it.
Above all, I hope not to take the important things in life for granted again. These things, which I have only recently really learned are important; important to me that is.
My return to the UK will be marked by me taking better care of my heart...and I can not wait. Thanks to those who have kept in contact with me, the marathon Skype sessions, the titbits of info about friends and plain old support. It has meant so much, I only hope I am able to repay your kindness.

Glad to hear it has been going so well. Taking risks may lead to pain. Avoiding risks stifles possibilities. I am learning to be a risk-taker.
