Lovetrix - 15th September (5)

Despite moving to Herts back in January, about 15 minutes drive from Hatfield where the Lovetrix club is currently being held, we somehow never managed to make it there until last night, a combination of my shift work and Master's "no more than one play event a month" attitude conspiring against us until now.

Lovetrix is held at the Kandi Bar in Hatfield. There's free parking at the venue and at Ł15 a head the entry fee is reasonable for the amount of equipment and the quality of the DM's there, although unlike places like Hades there doesn't seem to be a discount for pre-booking versus turning up on the night. As a result (and partly due to a late decision to go and a busy few weeks before it) we ended up just turning up and taking our chances.

We had to register for entry - and therefore ended up with yet another "naughty card" in our wallets - but the process was simple and painless. Along with another girl also there for her first time we were shown around by a lovely lady (whose name I have completely forgotten but who had one arm in plaster), although this didn't take long since the club only uses two areas; the playroom and the bar/lounge area, and of course the ever important toilets - which when I visited them were clean, not busy, and had amusing magazine articles stuck all over the cubicle walls.

The theme for the night was obviously School given the time of the year, and we'd both managed to scare outfits together (and wasn't it a relief to leave the corset behind for once!), and a lot of other people had put quite a bit of effort into outfits, both school related and more "normal" fetish wear. I was particularly taken by Supernanny's long black skirt, but managed to avoid actually drooling on it.

After our mini tour we sat down for a while, said hello to Forsaken1 (who it took me a while to recognise, although Master was a little bit more on the ball) and relaxed for a bit while people watching and trying to decide if we recognised anyone from previous events before He finally caved to my incessant demands to try out some of the play equipment. We started with a spanking bench, although it had no straps so we had to improvise with our chains and cuffs - we'd also not brought our rope along because, quite frankly, it's crap. As well as the spanking bench (well, benches - I think there were two), there was a chair, a medical style bench, a sling, a frame and harness, two crosses, and a metal cage... amusingly almost identical to the one we have at home. There were also two other things I have absolutely no idea what to call, that were put up a bit later out in the entrance area of the lounge.

There were plenty of DM's around although I think we figured out most of what we needed to know anyway. Still, it was reassuring to have that safety net there, as it were, and they all seemed very approachable. The woman who showed us round earlier made a point of coming back to us later and seeing how we were doing and whether we needed any further help, which was very much appreciated.

We managed to work our way through a lot of the equipment with a few breaks in between and also caught the photographer's attention a few times - he seemed a very pleasant chap, very careful about asking permission each time, and I'm looking forward to seeing if any of the ones with us in actually came out well since ordinarily I don't photograph well.

The one thing I can't pass comment on was the bar itself, since neither He nor I drink any alcohol as a general rule, and He normally restricts us to only water when we're out. The bar staff seemed alright, but then I don't have much experience of bar staff anyway!

All in all we had a good night, staying nearly until the end - I think we left at twenty past two in the end; I had taken all the beatings I could take and we were both quite tired. Although it was quieter by this point it was by no means entirely empty, quite a few small groups still hanging around and a handful of people were still playing.

Basically the only regret is my usual one; we're both still terminally shy. *g*

UK, 2 yrs Not that I'm aware of; the closest you would be able to get is the N91 at Cockfosters.

The local travellodge quite often has rooms available for Ł15 if you can book far enough in advance.

22 mths Wow, that's a good idea... it'll save that pricey taxi fare that could've been given! Thanks for that input, i'll need to look into it for the next opportunity that comes, any idea when the next lovetrix is or how often it comes?
