You try to be so careful as you carefully construct the jigsaw. Starting from the corner pieces, then making your way slowly around the edges and finally filling in the main body...piece by piece...until the day comes when the last piece is ready to be slotted home.
But isn't it always that final piece of the jigsaw that's missing?
You search and you search but nowhere is it to be found. You push the not-quite-complete puzzle aside, reluctant to tear it all apart, convinced that missing piece will be found sooner or later. You do find pieces, lurking in the unlikliest of places and, excitedly, you dash to see if it fits. It doesn't so you cast it aside and go on searching.
Eventually you begin to lose hope that your jigsaw will ever be complete and all but forget about it, trying to accept it and enjoy its beauty as it is.
Then, one day you are plodding along as usual, when out of the blue you spot it! There it is right in front of you in one of the places you had searched so many times previously. It almost seems like it was searching for you!
You are almost afraid to try it, in case it doesn't fit, in case you had deceived yourself. But you have waited for this for way too long not to try it. The anticipation is practically unbearable...but the relief as that final missing piece slots home perfectly is so amazing!!

It's a damn fine and rather sexy found piece actually. And can we play twister...without the actual game?

That's a beautiful analogy and very well put. In fact, I'm disappointed I didn't come up with it myself! Mind if I remember it for future use? There's nothing worse than an incomplete picture, or an incomplete person. And now that you've found the missing piece to that jigsaw, you'll start finding the missing pieces to the other puzzles in your life as well. And yes, they were probably always right in front of you, you just couldn't see them until you knew what you were looking for.
