Yes absolutely dreadful and becoming all too familiar in this 'don't punish' society. I am not sure it was the fact she was Goth provoked the attack. These morons don't need an excuse, just the fact they were unfortunate enough to stumble across the brain dead twats late at night would be enough. What a nightmare they must have endured. In a deserted place with 5 or more morons attacking them and no one near to help. Years back no one even attacked a guy if he was with his girlfriend.Nowadays they boot her to death as well!! Big brave 'men' eh,their parents and mates must be really proud they have such tough sons and buddies eh? I would noose and hang the 5 of them with not a moments hesitation or regret. I still think that Luke Mitchell was convicted simply because he was a goth/ metaller "We all have our twists. And what's a man without his twists? Nothing you would recognise." Charles Morgan, Sparkenbroke |

Who was it who said "I blame the parents"? Well, I don't agree as far as those that commit the act are culpable and must be accountable for their actions. However I do wonder at a "civilised society" where such a mob mentality and casual brutishness happens so easily and so often. Sometimes I despair of us as a species - and no, I'm not saying we are all capable of such mindless aggression, but that any of us are is dreadful enough. Sometimes I wonder whether the Gnostics weren't right My sympathies to both families as they have to deal with the aftermath of their personal tragedy. Shocked to the point of being lost for words. Sending sympathies and thoughts to the family. Though words cannot express the feelings of sadness. Regards Debs xx www.fleshpromotions.com |

Living in this town, and having had encounters with some of the local 'wildlife' I can honestly say these morons don't need a reason. I've been threatened just coming out of the Co-op with a loaf of bread and a bottle of milk. I'm just an ordinary, unremarkable looking sort of person. I just happened to make eye-contact with one of the local thugs loitering on a bench. The attack on Sophie might have been because of the way they were dressed, it might just have been because they were in the wrong place when some drug and drink fuelled animals wanted some 'fun'. Either way, its a tragedy and all their family and friends have my deepest sympathy.
