People have probably seen the threads about UKTrucker raising funds for a very disadvantaged young girl to buy her a buggy. There has already been a fantastic response and to add to that, Anita_Esrader has kindly donated a McLaren's Special Needs Buggy to be auctioned off for the cause. It is very sturdy and is suitable for adult baby use. I'll be uploading a picture very soon and you will be able to see that it is in very good condition, the footplate has been removed to make it easier for 'big baby' use.
To add to the fundraising, it has been decided to auction the buggy live at the LAM just before UKTrucker manfully (teehee!) takes his whacks at 4pm on Sunday . Cosmic1 has agreed to be the auctionmaster and, in order to maximise the opportunities for bidding, the following has been arranged.
1 - Bids can be made live on the day from the floor.
2 - Sealed bids can be made to me in advance by memo and I will act as your representative on the day. Closing time for memo bids is noon on Saturday 1st Sept.
3 - Telephone bids can be made live. If those who wish to bid know someone who is going to LAM and is willing to act on their behalf, please arrange it amongst yourselves. Otherwise send me a memo if you want to bid and I will do a bit of mix and match. Can anyone willing to act on someone's behalf at LAM drop me a line by memo with phone numbers.
All bidders will be issued a bid number to use on the day and I will hold all the paperwork for the auction. You will be able to find me at or around Master_Chopper's stand at LAM from around 1pm. I will have the buggy with me and the winner can either collect on the day or make arrangements with me for collection. Cash, cheque or Paypal.
The reserve is £50 and these buggies have been selling on Ebay for well over £100 recently so dig deep and lets get this little girl what she needs.
We have already had a great response from the items donated by Master_Chopper and Morphia, with the generosity of Anita_Esrader with this fantastic buggy, lets make sure that the lass gets what she needs.
