But the quality of films varies hugely... so I thought the only way to get some decent titles is to ask whats your favourite one?

'Secretary' is one of my favourites. A lot of people dislike it for many reasons (submissives being self-harmers, some aspects of conventionalism) but I love it. Warm, quirky, darkly funny and very sexy. And it's worth recommending just for Maggie Gyllenhaal's performance.

David Cronenberg's 'Crash' is on the slightly more fetish side of things. You tend to love it or hate it, and I fall into the former camp. It fetishizes violence, body modification and other such delights. It's cold and emotionless (much like the novel), which is a huge part of its appeal.

'The Night Porter' is an interesting film about the role reversals of a former Nazi camp officer and his one-time Jewish prisoner, and how the power is exchanged when they meet several years later.

Alternatively, I've noticed that my local porn emporium has started selling dvds with a distinctly ' fetish ' slant to them. There's a series ( I think called asphyxiation ? ) which are more bondage than sex, or there are some good ones by a female director called Tanya Hyde ( clearly not her real name ) that are heavily indebted to the latex fetish scene...

Other than that, I'm still waiting for the perfect fetish film. I'd film it myself if I had the cash. Or Traumata and I could write and direct it together....

For fetish type imagery check out The Cell. It may star Jennifer Lopez, but don't let that put you off.

And for anyone wanting anything involving men being humiliated by other men, I recommend nearly any war film that features a boot camp section. Particularly Full Metal Jacket. I know a few guys who have a thing for R. Lee Ermey's drill Sergeant.
