"What would you think if I sang out of tune, Would you stand up and walk out on me ?"

The Beatles

Probably 90%+ of readers would be able to identify that song by its tune, its title or the lyrics printed above.

But how will you fare with the following selection of lyrics? To make it easier I've supplied the first two lines, all you have to do is identify the song title and the artist/band.

If, as is likely, there are cover versions, of any song that come to light in the answers then I'll mark them as right... however, if it comes to a tie break then the person who identifies the most artists on my list will win.

Win what?

Honour. glory, and smug self satisfaction, of course :)

And for my "fans"... yes, I know it ain't Xmas yet... I was bored... it was 5am and I couldn't sleep... whatever!

First it was your hairstyle, then you wanna change the world

Why do you come here? And why do you hang around?

I had visions, I was in them I was looking into the mirror

Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me, I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to.

If you're going to San Francisco Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair

In 1965 Vietnam seemed like just another foreign war, But it wasn't.

I see the bad moon arising. I see trouble on the way.

Travelling in a fried-out combie On a hippie trail, head full of zombie

I got a cool head doin' alright But I been up here so long I was starving

Is it too much to ask? I want a comfortable bed that won't hurt my back

You walked into my house last night I couldn't help but notice

Belaruse no longer feels the sun But it's under the skin of everyone

Meet him by the road. There's a dog went running,

Sitting in an armchair, My head between my hands,

And into the sea goes pretty England and me Around the Bay of Biscay and back for tea

We stop for coffee in the redwood forest. Giant dripping leaves

Answers on a postcard... or rather by memo.

Enjoy
