I'm sick of this bloody cold. I've had it for thirty eight years. It'll be the death of me i'm sure. Is there such a thing as fatal catarrh ?
When i eventually pop mi wellies, i've got a shrewd idea that Saint Peter will put the chain on and interrogate me through the letter box:
"Now then Mia", he'll say, in a Saint Peterish sort of way.
"What have you done to benefit mankind and sway my judgement in favour of allowing your spirit into the Kingdom of Heaven ?"
I'll have my answer ready: " I've produced a record four and a half cubic metres of snot and, if that doesn't make me a martyr, fuck knows what will".
"Oh.....a trouble maker" He hissed through the flap. "I've met your sort before. You're just going to have to go around again".
"Go around again ? What do you mean ? I've been around once an' it was crap. I'm old and knackered an' i just want to sit on a cloud with a Vick's Sinex and everyone i've ever loved and lost".
"Tough" came the ethereal response. "God gave you a free will and a nose but you blew it. You aren't a bad person really but you haven't done anything to qualify.........sorry".
"Free will?" i parroted "i don't WANT a free will. Take it back !! It's not free if it's imposed !! i'm a subby for fuck's sake. i want to be owned !!"
Pause, then the flap twitches again.....
"Well, just go back to reality and think yourself lucky that you've been given a second chance. Your spirit is now free to be re-born and you must decide upon your semblance"
Then i woke up..wondering if dreams were reality and reality was just a letter box with threatening letters pouring through it.
So whom or what would you be the second time around ?
Me ? i'd like to come back as a bra thinking about Saint Peter kneeling down.

A cat. Not just any old cat - a feral cat that has to work for a living won't do, oh no. I want to be a pampered house cat. The nearest thing they do to work is look cute when it's feeding time.
