We arrived in Amsterdam on Friday for 9 whole days! Wasting no time at all, we planned for Friday evening to be the first night that we visited a club.
We came out here in April this year and I was taken to my 2nd ever Amsterdam Club Passion we had a really good time, and as I had only been to one Amsterdam club before that "It's my life" I wasn't really sure what to expect.
So, Friday we picked up the car from the Airport and dropping cases and bags back at the apartment before a little food shopping, getting showered and changed and heading off outside of Amsterdam itself.
We arrived a little later than expected, but the drive was some 30 minutes or so, and we reached Fetish Showboat, we found the staff on the door to be friendly and welcoming and we were told we didn't have to pay upon entering, but to pay as we left. We were given a key to lockers and also a number that we showed at the bar, we were shown around, shown where play areas etc were, and made sure we knew the rules and ettiquette.
The upper level consisted of a large area of dance floor, a buffet at the side of that (The Dutch do seem to enjoy incorporating food/buffets with their parties) and lots of plus seating areas. There were a few traders upstairs. One that did chain mail clothing and some floggers, and another that did glass insertables.
Downstairs was split into several play areas. A smaller dungeon with several pieces of good quality kit, surrounded by areas with lockers (lots of them! a locker key is given upon entrance to the club) another area also subdivided. Showers, done out beautifully in bright colours, and the theme in the surrounding murals being that of the east, and karma sutra type art. leading onto from that an area with a sling and equipment, and around the other side, more equipment, including a cross and several benches. Again, more seating, so that people can relax and watch, or chill out after playing.
The whole night, including entrance, buffet and several drinks each, cost us 50 euro's for the two of us! In my opinion, the night was very well run, people were friendly, the staff were helpful and accommodating and the surroundings were quite breath taking.
Saturday, we drove for an hour to reach Club Doma again, we got there a little later than expected, but time management is not our strong point. Upon entering, we paid our admission, which was 70 euro's (for both of us) that included buffet and 12 drinks, and as Badg1 discovered after we had finished playing a large shot of vodka and orange, only counted as ONE drink! We were informed we had missed the first show, unfortunately.
On ground level there are two specific areas, a suite which is tastefully decorated in red and black pvc with matching black tiles in the room, then walking past that, is the bar and stage area, the seating is comfortable and well placed.
Downstairs there is another play area that allows in single males to watch, upstairs is couples only. We decided to play upstairs, as there was less room taken up, upstairs. The surroundings were comfortable, well lit, clean and the temperature was just right. No drinks were allowed into the dungeon area, which is not too surprising really, as the equipment and furniture were immaculate. What ensued was a fantastic night of play, and we met up unexpectedly with a Domme that we had met at Passion, who was more than happy to give some of her needles to Badg1 for play purposes.
The show itself, was quite light hearted and not too heavy, and both the female and male performer had quite a sense of humour in their performance.
I would highly recommend both clubs. I have found the organisers to be friendly, helpful, accommodating, and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

This I think counts as the understatement of the decade...... This was a public service announcement from the Dragons Friendly Society. Edited 19 Jul 07, 6:36 PM by estarriol

We have visted many clubs in Amsterdam and they have ALL been excellent! Mistress Marisa and myself recently returned from Wasteland (Amsterdam), it's an Event not to be missed, very well organised, fantastic venue and very reasonable prices (42 Euros) We will certainly go back in November for another session and we hope to take a few of our own Members with us. If anyone is interested in joining us please go to www.treatsparties.co.uk and send us an email. The Master Mark @ TREATS !

Great to hear that you had a great time over here. If you think Wasteland is good then you really should visit Boudoir Bizarre. http://www.boudoir-bizarre.nl/ Next Party is on 20th October 2007. It's a bit of a pain to get to but if a few of you share a taxi the cost is well worth the trip. Let me know if you're coming, may be able to hook you up with some others going. Take care. Erika

Weren't you worried about being told to pay on the way out from the Fetish Showboat? When I first read that it reminded me of those Soho nightclubs where entrance is 'free' and then, supposedly, 'big' men encourage you to pay ridiculous amounts for glasses of water once inside!?

Not at all. That tends to be how the clubs there are. Everything seems to be incorporated into the one price, we were informed of the pricing before hand, and the first ever club I went to, was a "pay later" one. I think its much better personally, you don't have to worry about carrying money around with you.

Well theres plenty of places, perv and non perv. Non perv, I definately recommend Boom Chicago Comedy Club, excellant! We also went to Passion, out in Bussum, that was my 2nd time there. Sameplace is a good alternative lifestyles bar too, didn't get there this time unfortunately. There was also another club on the same night as Doma, but the name escapes me, shall have to try and find it. 4th August is Pride weekend there too. (Think its Gay Pride, rather than BDSM Pride)
