As high heels are firmly within my top three obsessions (I'll have to compile a list of my fetishes one of these days, if nothing else it'll help satisfy my list making fetish), I was very interested in this study of how high heels can go.
The basic equation is: H = Q x (12+3S/8), where:
H is the maximum height of the heel in centimetres; Q is a sociological factor with a value between 0 and 1 and S is the shoe size (UK ladies sizes).
The interesting sociological factor Q = Px(Y+9)xL / (T+1)x(A+1)x(Y+10)x(L+£20), where:
P is the probability that wearing the shoes will assist in “pulling” and is measured from 0 to 1; Y is the number of years experience in wearing high heels; L is the cost of the shoes, in pounds; T is the time since the shoe was the height of fashion, in months and A is units of alcohol consumed.
The positive effect of cost and experience on the height of the heel makes sense; however, I don't think that the “pull” factor works. It's the height that influences the chance of “pulling” so it can't really be part of the equation. And even if it's considered purely as an indicator of the objective probability of “pulling” (i.e. 0 if there is no one to see them) it doesn't account for all those woman (and I just know that there are many, many of them) who dress up in the highest heeled boots to strut around on their own, dreaming of males grovelling at their feet.
Also, what is missing is a kinky index. I'd imagine that there should be a more or less direct correlation between kinkiness and maximum heel height.
So, I propose that a more accurate evaluation of Q would be:
Q = Kx(Y+9)xL / (T+1)x(A+1)x(Y+10)x(L+£20), where:
K is the kinkiness factor measured on the Major-Cleaver Index; that is 0.1 if you are John Major and 1.0 if you are Naomi Cleaver.
I wonder if I could get a grant.

One factor needs to be added: The quantitative desire of the high-heel wearer to induce jellification in others who may see them. Suggest this is factored as 'P' for Power....

you've only gone and mixed my biggest obsession (heels) with my biggest hatred (maths) if you love it, tie it up and spank it....

I was going to use Venn diagrams in my next lesson, I mean weblog, but perhaps I need to rethink. "Treat a man as he is and he will remain as he is. Treat a man as he can and should be, and he will become as he can and should be." ::Johann Wolfgang von Goethe::
