I've got my own Internet connection, yep, well it's taken a long week to get it installed and all I can say is F&$%£*g Virgin Media, Arrrrrrrrr!!!!!
Talk about giving you a run-around, lets just say that I hate call centres and especially Central call centres, and Virgin Media just top it all off. Then again I can't really complain yet, I just hope that they stick to the deal that I signed up for otherwise they could lose a value customer. Well between them F*&king up my account and then deleting my DD over the phone, their customer service is very crap, just as crap as the unsecured WIFI Broadband networks around my area that I've been living off for the past few weeks prior to me getting my own internet connection up.
Anyway, for the 2nd time this month I'm back!
I did get a brief spell online last Saturday after coming back from the Liverpool munch and I was in the middle of posting on the boards regarding the munch and from what I think about things ETC….. when I got gunned down by the WIFI's, so coming back online today and reading a weeks worth of mail about the munch and stuff has made me think more about BDSM in the community, well the lack of public support and my views on that, in which I as part of the BDSM community can thank and say what great munches we have around here in the northwest but particularly the ones I attend, the reason why I attend them is that I like the company of others, friends and rabble alike that's what being part of your local BDSM community is about and helping new people to get an idea of what 'we' most of us insane rabble do when we are out and about which I feel makes it more welcoming. Though the sad point to all this is when certain areas don't like or are not BDSM friendly, that itself is a hard thing to spot, while you, yourself may feel comfortable with being as friendly as possible to newbies and fellow rabbles the same can't be said for others and other local areas.
So what's made me write this bit about BDSM community and friends and foe's alike, well after reading some email I've been reading this week and still mellowing over why certain areas have real difficulties in finding venues that they once was very popular in, has made me think more about what the community should do to what it shouldn't do. Whether that be supporting new people or venues in the community or those who want to be more involved with things that go around them to the shouldn't like how we shouldn't support those who give us (the so called community) a bad name and those who hurt others and get banned. (Just in general.)
So on that note, I'm glad to be back online and see that things haven't changed a bit, and I am now looking forward to cooking myself a nice tuna, pasta bake tonight.
Oh yeah, and on a final note, thank you for all those people and rabbles that I have met over the years for giving me such a warm welcome and making me feel part of the community at both munches and on here, the home of the community hub, IC.
