Perhaps the female subs whom you've consulted told you they want a “mean” Dom when what they really want is a Sadist. The women who mistake being a gentleman as a sign of weakness are possibly not looking for a long- term relationship. While anyone can learn to be a Top, sadism can't be taught, you either get it or you don't. It is hard to get to know a man as most are more closely guarded than women, so unless you communicate your desires/fantasies, the courted female may assume you just want a girlfriend and not a sub.
I almost fell into this trap. I worried about getting
involved with my current boyfriend because I wasn't
sure he could handle me. I was happily proved wrong.
However, the entire process would have been a lot
easier if he, like most men, weren't so damn difficult
and learned that communication is not a river in
Egypt!
