Now if it had been Yazoo I could have understood but is the Best of the Flying Pickets not an oxymoron? rosy | ||

I'm more of an Alison Moyet or Eurythmics person myself.
It's strange how you revisit things. As a general rule, I hate covers. But what did the Flying Pickets do... Maybe it was because they did them differently? And with a certain panache. But then I've always liked Righteous Brothers / Everley Brothers / Phil Spector / Beach Boys / Eagles / Fleetwood Mac close-coupled harmonics. Or maybe it was it was just a blast from the past. I've got a memory that the live at the Albany albumn had a wicked piss-take of Thatcher and the Falklands. But then I've always thought that the Pogues' version of Waltzing Matilda (did someone mention covers?) was a rather telling anti-war anthem.
