I didn't make it to Ascot, but I was passing through Waterloo Station this afternoon and was lucky enough to be caught in a swarm (I'm sure there is a better collective noun, but I did feel swarmed in the most delightful way) of ladies on their way there.
A majestic swarm of fantastic hats, mysterious veils; glamorous dresses, towering stilettos, sexy bags and even the occasion pair of gloves; engulfed by a miasma of exotic scents and bourn along by a cacophony of excited voices and clicking heels.
Just for a moment my boring drab commute was transformed into a bright female dominated heaven.

In Aristasia, of course, that last remark would be true - http://www.aristasia.co.uk/ - but here in sinful old Telluria men are still largely in charge. Which is the just the way it should be, of course... I do like the formal costumes at Ascot for men and women, though. I went last year suitably behatted and bespatted and felt as if I had wandered onto the set of My Fair Lady. Quiero hacer contigo lo que la primavera hace con los cerezos |
