Consensual Kink - http://www.consensualkink.com or http://www.theckclub.com - is a (roughly) monthly fetish club held in Bournemouth. Not quite a year old, the first few were held at a venue until another more monied event took over their booking instead, forcing them to relocate. It's been a long road, and the club has been kept going in a dedicated form in a private location, but a public venue was finally found and on the 8th June, the opening night.
My Master and I never experienced Consensual Kink in its proper club form; our first time was the second one held at the private venue after the previous hosts, Bar Bluu, changed their minds. And so, in a way, we were club virgins - the (comparatively) quiet home-y setting we were used to turned out to be very different from what we now found ourselves at.
First, the venue:- the organisers were informed only a week or so before that the new venue wouldn't actually be ready in time, but managed to go ahead anyway. Apparently paving slabs on the smokers patio were still being laid at 6pm; the party started two hours later. Various ingenious ways were used to disguise 'unfinished' parts of the building and the overall effect was pretty damn good, which bodes well for the completed job which should be on show at the July party.
The venue is spread out over three floors although, due to the building work, the top was only being used for entry. A spiral staircase led down to the next floor, which had access to the sunken patio, and also had what was the only bar for the night, though when work is done, all floors should have one. There were tables and chairs out, and also a St Andrews cross, a spanking bench and spanking stool, mantis chair and the cage - though sadly only with its barred door, not the grope-hole one. Another curved set of stairs led down to the dance area, which had another spanking bench and cross, a dancing stage with winch, a-frame and a pole, and also led to the toilets, a small changing room and a cloakroom area.
Secondly, the equipment:- a good selection as usual although again we were a little spoiled by having only gone to the 'home' parties; a few odd bits of equipment that we'd been used to using were not obviously available due to being solid fixtures at the house! However, as noted above, there were two crosses and two benches, where before we'd only had one of each. The equipment is all of a fairly good standard - not that I've much experience to judge it by - with the only downside being that the cage had been put in place apparently to hide the entrance to some stairs, so there was no actual wall behind it, making one a bit wary of struggling once in it. It probably would have taken an awful lot to topple it, but then again I do weigh an awful lot!
Thirdly, the drinks:- not that I can really say much here, actually, since we don't drink as a general rule, neither of us having much of a taste for it, and me further restricted by my job and the fact that I would be driving us back to our beds. Water was, however, free for the asking, which was a relief. There wasn't anything in the way of food that we saw, although with the exception of the New Year's Party which was a 12 hour marathon, there never has been much in that line by CK beyond a few nibbles - not a sticking point, but something to bear in mind. Unfortunately we'd had a rather long drive down from Hertfordshire - dragged out even longer by the traffic understandably heading to the coast for what proved to be a gorgeous weekend - so hadn't had time to eat a proper meal before going, something that we'll try to remember to do next time!
I mentioned above that we were, in a way, club virgins - neither of us goes to "normal" clubs either so the rather loud music probably affected us a little more adversely than it would people who were used to it. Once the top floor is available for proper use this might be a bit less of a problem if they use it as a quieter area. Everyone was friendly and welcoming as usual, although new people who are going might want to try to make it to a Poole Munch (or maybe New Forest - I've never personally attended one but the couple that I gather are now organising it have been to a lot of the CK events) first just to have a few faces to recognise on the night, especially if you're going alone or are especially shy.
The club has a good dress code (details can be found on their website) which strikes a decent balance between discouraging 'gawpers' but also not requiring a huge initial outlay for complicated and intricate outfits. The events are, in my admittedly inexperienced eyes, a good price for what is generally roughly a seven hour event.
We managed to get in a fair amount of playing - mostly by the method of turning up dead on time and diving in while people were still arriving. It took a little while but once the majority of people had arrived most of the equipment was in use for a lot of the time, although there was enough that there was generally one or two pieces available still, and the usual big box of bondage rope was provided.
All in all, we had a wonderful time as usual, and went home in a good mood, and only regret that the move up here to Herts means we can't get down there as often as we'd like to now.

This was the second club I have been to, and the hosts and regulars were welcoming and friendly. Enjoyed myself and even managed to break my play in public cherry! Only one point of criticism, bigger glasses for the soft drinks please. MRx | |

I am sure that once the few teething problems of the unfinished building are ironed out,consensual kink will become an enjoyable and long lasting south coast fetish venue. I had never really played to the background of loud dance music but i did find it enjoyable and i think there is enough diversity in the venue to keep everyone happy.I offer my hearty congratulations to Andy and Angel and the rest of the ck crew and i am sure the club will go from strength to strength! I only have one moan,the toilet floors were a bit 'sticky'but then i think i was the only sub silly enough to go barefoot!!!!! I'm so glad that this has taken me so long, | |

Hi Rose glad you had a good time with us sorted the glasses problem with the venue owner as from next month the glasses are twice the size at the same price ( does this constitute half price drinks ?)mm i wonder, and the decor should be finished with the club bar being open aswell as the play/chill area we look forward to seeing you again soon take care Andy | |

Absolutely nothing but praise for the work and logistical miracle performed by Andy et al to get the club open on time and to the date set. It was my first time to such a venue but do have 25+ years of clubs across the world and I have to say it was the best and most memorable night I've had; even beating the fetish and drag bars in Key West, Florida seeing in the 2007 new year. It just goes to prove that it's the people that makes a venue work. I have nothing but praise and look forward to the next venue and forthcoming events. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen so many happy and friendly people in one place. Inhibitions were left at the front door, the play areas were in constant use, the music was top-notch mixing and it was an excellent place to socialise and network.
