Cocooning (3)

Are any of you Babylon 5 fans? If so, you may recall the scene. If not, it doesn't matter.

Ivanova to Sheridan: "...and Ambassador Delenn is in a cocoon."

Sheridan: "A cocoon?!"

Ivanova: "Yep." [She indicates with a hand gesture at about chest level] "About yea high."

Of course, Minbari Ambassador Delenn did eventually emerge from *her* cocoon. She was covered with black flaky scales and looked in desperate need of a good moisturiser. But eventually the scales fell off and she emerged new and improved and with a new hair style. Matou and I have also been in something of a cocoon for the past four to five months or so. We are, I think, slowly coming out of it but I think we're still in the black flaky scales stage. Definitely not suitable for public viewing yet.

No, not really. I am being silly. But we have been in a bit of a cocoon (although I don't think we've accumulated too many scales or made any other kind of startling metamorphosis). We've been tired and stressed out lately, and decided that one of the few benefits of being our ages was that we could elect to not do everything that we had been doing when we felt too tired to enjoy it. We have been choosing instead to spend some time just spending time with each other, which continues to be one of our favourite pastimes. There have been a few unsettling vanilla-life events but nothing earthshaking -- not to worry, please.

Of course, we have also been incommunicado unwillingly since late January because of hideously frustrating problems with our ISP. We've already bored a few people with these; leave it to say that thanks to Orange we had no e-mail or internet from last week January until the end of April when we finally got them to take the marker off our line ... and started up with another company. If anyone is considering subscribing to broadband services with Orange, I would say "No, don't do it, save yourselves and your sanity whilst you still can!" Horrible, horrible company to work with when there's a problem. In leaving Orange we also also lost our "matou-mansions" domain name for our e-mail and are still trying to sort out new addresses, so if anyone wants to contact us ic memos are probably the best bet at the moment.

Take care ... hope to see some of you soon.

And as always to Matou ... ai shiteru, Sensei. Itsumo.

It's good to see you back online again. Hopefully your new ISP will be better behaved and allow us to enjoy your company! :-)
