Does Mercy still run in Liverpool? (8)

I can only asume it's been hushed up and pushed out by the up coming Europian City of culture shinanicans.

It's not running any more and it's not down to the City of Culture stuff. Basically the person who owned the venue we were using hadn't been paying his rent or taxes or something to the city and so out of the blue it was closed down. We could have looked for another venue but Tiana was having major health problems and attendance numbers weren't great either and good affordable venues are hard to find, so we decided to give it a break. Maybe when Tiana is feeling better they might try and organise something else but there's nothing happening for the foreseeable future.

Echoes the sentiments re Tiana being back to full health and spirit.

The scene in Mersey area could well do with her input once again. Both the club and the market were subject to a great deal of hard work on many peoples parts. As an attendee I witnessed a good local 'community' up there which I for one hopes will return.

BondageBear said it all. Mercy was hard work but also something we enjoyed doing, with the help of some really great volunteers. In hindsight, it was probably a good thing we lost the venue when we did, as my health problems have continued to deteriorate. Finding venues in Liverpool on a Saturday night was nigh on impossible, but trying to find one with wheelchair access....hmmm

Although BondageBear took over the organising of the Liverpool Munch when we bailed out, I don't think he'd have been too pleased to have taken over the running of Mercy too

I can't even organise a piss up in a brewery. I'm surprised the Liverpool Munch is still going.

Manchester has a few advantages over Liverpool, which makes it a better place for clubs.

Of that I have no doubt, I'm seriously considering moving out there at some point in the future. Beyond the kink-life Manchester seems like such a cool place to be.

But there'll always be a place in me 'eart for Liverpool, there's alot of talk about renovation and investment etc, so I'm looking forward to seeing how things go in the years to come.
