WOW...sometimes its the simplest things that please this girl....
this year she invested in a season ticket for the sculpture garden and garden of surprises at Burghley House... wonderful place... new things to see almost every time we go.... the boy loves it as he can get very very wet as the garden of surprises is pretty much water inspired.
On the bank of the lake is a small windowless summer house and when you go in and shut the door it becomes pitch black inside... then you notice there is a single point of light coming through one wall and you sit on a bench and allow your eyes to become accustomed to the dark....and wow...you realise there is an upside down vista of lake and trees almost covering the inside of the hut.... today it was pretty overcast so the image was dreamy and dim... but on a sunny day it will be fantastic.
this girl has always had a soft spot for a camera obscura ever since as a child she accidentally created one in her bedroom.... wondering why there were upside down dustbins on her wall!
