I went to my first meeting last night, for the Oxford Photographic Society. OMG I seriously felt humbled. The guys and ladies are in a class of their own.
They were reviewing a series of competitions they had had, in house, for entries to a competition in Warwick. Now this competition is aimed at professional and internalional levels. And the pics they were rejecting, I would have been proud to have taken. They were going No, no, no, no; whilst in my head I was going wow, really, fantastic, wow.
I seriously have a lot to learn..lol..
And again, I consider myself quite profficient and skilled at using photoshop, and have just upgraded to CS3
But again I feel like a small child in amongst serious professionals. Their montage work and other use of PS, was just simply stunning.
They did ask if I wanted to bring along some of my shots next week to view, and see what I was doing. But I just mumbled something about not being into public humiliation ![]()
~~
Guess I will be going along next week then, I have a serious amount of stuff to learn from these people.

enjoy, have fun and have a blast of a journey learning Come what may, I am bound to think that all things are ordered for the best; though when the good is a furlong off, and we with our beetle eyes can only see three inches, it takes some confidence in general principles to pull us through. |
