How about putting a line buried within your profile that says that memos which do not have a subject line of "jelly" or other key word will be deleted ?

I dont think I have ever memoed someone without carefully reading their profile.

Most of us do read profiles - well, I do! There are them that don't, but you can easily ignore them.

One wee point - many folk like an athletic or slim body type. That is a preference, not fascism.

Um, right. Many folk also don't? But I would hope that anyone who wanted to be a friend wouldn't give a shit about whether I was skinny as a rake or as big as Rik Waller, so if they did I would count that as body fascism.

size is not a matter in friends to me, you can be a stick or the goodyear blimp if we get along and have fun then fat or thin it's all good

its not the winning its the taking apart

Yes, but you see, you're clearly one of the nice sensible ones who don't assume one liners stating 'mistress please take charge of me' will be answered in the affirmative.

I agree, sort of. Have many friends and playmates on the larger side. Fascism is one hell of a strong word though - I stopped reading after that, so that phrase could mess up even the chance of friendship. Was intended as friendly feedback, that's all. Good luck to you anyway.

why poison your liver when I could eat it for you?

Fair enough. You just phrased it in a way that got my hackles up, and I think you've taken it a little bit too seriously if you *actually* stopped reading the profile because the words 'body fascist' were mentioned. If you aren't a body fascist, surely it shouldn't offend, and if you are, well, then you're going to stop reading anyway, aren't you? But perhaps you are more sensitive than most to words like that - I apologise if I offended you, but there was never the intention to.

I know exactly how you feel. I too get frustrated that people here just don't bother to read profiles. I mean, my profile is a perfect example of this. My profile quite clearly states that I am a single Dom with a penchant for Topping women. HOWEVER, lithe and masochistic subs never seem to throw themselves in the direction of my memo box!

Shocking eh! ;)

Unfortunately, I don't think profiles are ever going to be read properly by everyone that stumbles across them. Tis the way of the big bad worldwide web!

I'm a submissive masochist, and made this quite clear on my profile (pre-edit!), yet I'd still get numerous memos asking me to domme someone. Now, no mention of my preferences, and no domming memos!

This reverse psychology, I tell you...

Vote for the FILTERING MEMOS proposal in the Help section: http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/boards/help/948...

The more responses it gets, the more likely it is to find its way onto Tanos' todo list. :-)

As you wish to dissuade those who don't read through your profile, from sending you a message, it might be an idea to make your position clear in bold at the top of your text about yourself.

Or you could just delete the messages from those who haven't complied with your specific requirements and move on, unless of course, the quantity is so overwhelming that you can't manage. Just out of interest, how many undesirable messages are you talking about?

I'm pretty sure it is. It says 'newbie seeking friends' before you even get to the main text, not 'mistress seeking slaves'. I've removed any reference to topping men, too, so if you're searching for someone to do that to you, I won't appear in any results. I keep the bit about what I'm interested in finding here near the bottom as I know many people will either read the whole thing, as is the right way of handling profiles, or probably scroll down to see what I'm interested in kink-wise and should then spot the fact I'm looking for new friends and nothing else, if the phrase at the top that appears before you can even click on my profile when viewing it through the ads bit wasn't enough.

Yes, but I already know that. I know nothing will stop determined twits who don't read the profile properly before messaging. It varies but there's a good number daily - it's not unmanageable but it's still annoying.

It will probably drop off a bit, now that you've altered your choices. But you are always going to receive a certain amount of unwanted mail - welcome to the internet! The very open nature of the online experience, means we occasionally have to take the rough with the smooth. Hope it delivers you more of the smooth!
