a few months back started having a youngster knock at the door to take the dog for a walk - after doing all the normal checks of checking with her mum - she maybe once a week would collect the dog and take him for a stroll. I usually gave her some quids to say tar.
She walks a lot of peoples dogs and even has a little book that she writes people and times in.. good on her - gonna be a financial sucess when she's older. She's maybe 8/9? jeez I can't tell. With a name that her parents were clearly watching a disney film when she was conceived I tell you.
Anyway today for about the 7th day on the trot - hi Mel got any jobs - anything ... said no and the dog isnt back till tomorrow (she knows the dog is sometimes here and sometimes not due to a weird share thing I have with the ex) she whined and said oh please... I only want a bit of money for sweets. I've been watching her knock on neighbours doors since school finished today.
needless to say she didnt leave happy - said you are starting to annoy me now - I dont mind paying you to walk the dog when hes here - stop knocking on the door twice a day asking for jobs. Does your mum know?
Im going to hell...
edit to add - what do u do?

I would be concerned she is putting herself at risk by knocking on doors and asking.!! I would talk to the mother and mention the risk. resistance is futile........we are brats. |

Mel,
I don't think your going to hell for that. You have every right to be assertive. I wouldn't tell the mum perhaps but keep a watchful eye out yourself.
