So, we've had the car crash outside earlier and the obligatory shouting match afterwards. We've had the shooting and sirens blaring.
I've even had the more private dramas of teenage angst, the shouted protestations that I am the antichrist, evil incarnate blah blah blah
I've had the door knocking late at night, latest in a long line of offsprings distressed friends looking for a place to stay and not finding it here (leading to yet more shouting about how I'm the most evilist bitch blah blah blah) fruitless phonecalls to try and find a teenage vulnerable girl somewhere to stay for the night. Thanked for my efforts, like hell, I'm an interfering busybody who should keep my nose out of course.
I've had returned calls from the official agencys with the standard "not our problem" line.
And now, honestly, right now, at 20 past midnight...my landlord/neighbour has decided it's the perfect time for a spot of sanding!
Now, I know he's sanding in there, but I'm preferring to imagine he has the worlds largest vibrator plugged into the mains.
it's the small things that keep my tenuous grip on reality.

LOL I'm on a main road just minutes from a large hospital and at the moment the loudest thing in here is the hum from My computer fan.... Oh hang on... yep that bus passing was just slightly louder... thats it.... nice and peaceful.

i use ear plugs i live next as in one wall attached to a site where their building flats all day every day imagine that all the time. then the noisy men setting up the market what fun.... ear plugs. works every time I may be cute but fuck with me you WILL get a shock! | |

yes but you're on the main road the ambulances never use! I'm on the main road the local police do use, and apparently the only way to get past no traffic at 3am is with sirens blaring. I don't even notice buses passing anymore, or all the regular shop noises, I didn't even hear the shooting...just the aftermath. And as for the sander, wasn't loud enough to be annoying, just amused me. | |

I empathise and sympathise with you sweetie. Feeling totally pooped took myself off to bed about 11pm ish, just settle to sleep then get the usual chorus of sirens, cars squeeling to a halt, trains, etc etc.
I've been clever enough to not have sprogs so no teenage madness around me but having taken Jimbo to the vets yesterday to have a tooth removed, scale and polish he decided that it was only right he should be allowed access to the bedroom and scratched away at the door for ages. Needless to say he gave up eventually and I kept my bed to myself
