You do have to be careful with fakers online, but you can usually tell the real ones from the fakers, I can tell a faker very quickly. When I started serving Goddess Tierra I was of course nervous about Her being a faker which is why I didn't just send Her money right away - it was a progressive gaining of trust. Initially I was attracted to Her from Her pictures, clips4sale videos, website and Her blog - where She mentions all aspects of Her life rather than just findomme stuff so I knew She was likely a real person. I then got to talking on Yahoo IM, saw Her on cam and spoke with Her on the phone. Some of Her local slaves have met up with Her too, and Goddess has suggested we meet up sometime but nothing has ever materialised as of yet due to the huge distance between us.

A lot of the money I sent Her went on purchases from Her amazon wishlist, and there are photos/clips of Her with the items, or wearing them if they are clothes/shoes. I also paid for a tattoo, which is clearly visible on Her right arm. So I know for a fact Goddess Tierra is who She claims to be, not some man pretending to be a woman or anything like that.

But inevitably fakers do exist, so it is important to be vigilant.

Your alcohol analogy makes sense, financial domination in moderation is ok, it's just when it becomes an out of hand addiction that problems arise. The problem with many financial dommes is that they actually encourage money slaves to become addicted. If you look on their amazon wishlists, you can often see books that have been purchased relating to mind control, cults, persuasion and influence techniques, NLP, hypnosis, etc. Many financial dommes use these mind control and persuasion techniques on their websites, blogs and clips to develop and maintain a slaves addiction to financial domination, and to prevent them from resisting. My Goddess for instance created a whole video series entitled 'Recovering clip addict' where the 'cure' for the addiction is to buy more and more clips.

Extending this to the alcohol analogy, it's like a bartender using persuasive language and manipulative social games to encourage people to drink themselves into oblivion to get them addicted to alcohol and coming back for more.

Forgive me if I've got this wrong, but it seems to me that you also revel somewhat in your addiction. (E.g. describing yourself in your livejournal as being "totally addicted".) It's not just that you're addicted, but your knowledge of how addicted you are also turns you on in a big way, I think. This is how deep fantasies of control work - in a spiralling, inescapable, self-referential whirlpool. While you still get your kicks from being controlled in this way, I doubt whether things will change very much.

I'm not a stranger to obsession myself, though not in this particular form. I'm pretty sure the only "cure" is to break off all contact - if you want to be "cured".

Try. Just a little bit harder.

Hmmm, that's interesting. I don't get turned on by how addicted I am, but I think you have a point there. It does seem like I'm labelling myself as addicted, which could become a self-fulfilling prophesy. With regard to cutting all contact, I've tried that many times. I last a few weeks, maximum was about 2 months, before I can't resist anymore and I end up returning, buying clips, hitting Her wishlist, etc.

The next time you go to your parents take every device you own that is capable of accessing the internet and leave it there.

Then develop a life that does not involve the internet.

After about a year you might be safe enough to go back online.

You could also try to get yourself sectioned into a mental health hospital because your current conduct may qualify as a type of insanity.

That stuck me too. slave richard is obviously intelligent and insightful enough to understand how this addiction has happened, how it has been encouraged and how it is maintained by Tierra. There isn't anything about this situation that he doesn't already know. Oddly I can't seem to find any desperation or regret in his words either...just a sort of...acceptance. Until the situation, and he, becomes desperate enough I suspect slave richard won't be motivated enough to stop.
