Do you ever start to wonder if something is conspiring against you?

I am DEEPLY sorry to inform you all that once again, circumstances have, at the eleventh hour (literally) dropped us deep in the doodoo and resulted in our having to cancel, at horribly short notice, the workshop on BREATHPLAY planned for tomorrow.

Not for illness as last month... this is something horribly unexpected and new for us.

I have just had a telephone call this evening from the venue owner (our wonderful Brian) who was gutted to inform me that the police have advised all local shops/venues around the area of our venue to close tomorrow afternoon and stay closed. Why?

Because there is a big football match on and there is practically promised violence. There will be a huge police presence around (including right on our road) complete with cameras etc., to try to prevent it... but they're pretty much warning residents to stay indoors and don't park your car there for starters. We're right by the football ground, literally on a main walkway to the match, and kickoff is near as damnit the time of the workshop.

So, in order to protect our attendees Brian is closing the venue and we're cancelling the workshop. We don't want your cars damaged or you having to fight your way through stupid football hooligans and you won't have to walk through a bunch of policemen to get to the venue itself.

I am SO very sorry, it's a total sickener literally the day before the munch.

CMUNCH on SUNDAY WILL be going ahead as always; as the police don't expect trouble to go on to the next day, only for the day and night itself. That means you can still have the taster demo on Breathplay at the munch, a pretty poor substitute, but a lot better than nothing!

If anyone has any serious problems with rearranging plans this late in the day, or has already incurred costs with travel etc, please email or memo me with your phone number.

I'm pretty fed up, in case you hadn't gathered... but next month I may well run two concurrent workshops and make it a full day event, the Rope workshop which was planned for last month and the Breathplay planned for tomorrow - workshop frenzy to catch up!! ~grin~ Watch this space for further news and developments on that one.

~goes for a stiff single malt and ponders the conspirative nature of the current universe!!!~ Kat (et al) http://www.leatherfamily.co.uk

Wow yer luck is so bad you don't have a subbie to kick, unless you are using one as a desk that is. ;-)

(Disclaimer: I know you wouldn't lash out at a subbie out of anger/frustration.)

Ahh well SO BE IT.. or words to that effect.. One thing that I DO know.. these workshops are too informative and too much fun to give them up, so. let just look forward to the next one and enjoy the wonderful Munch. Just one word of warning.. Don't ask kat the pick the lottery numbers for us all!!

Just keep up the great work Leather Family and it will all work out fine.. One last comment.. your efforts are greatly appreciated by so many..

Does double take....Businesses forced to close because of mob rule uncontrollable by police. Violence so assured that a day and a half before it is unstoppable.....OK right next to Old trafford, Highbury, Stamford Bridge I would be slightly surprised. But CHESTERFIELD....Sleepy stylish Derbyshire town!! My god what the hell is going on in this country! Keep the faith Kat....sooner or late a workshop will come off....The law of averages demands it!
