I thought we could at least escape them on here.
A place for civilised individuals who can answer and debate questions with intelligence and sensitivity. After all bdsm is a broad church, and we're all used to being criticised for our lifestyle. I thought maybe this was a place where a person could raise an interesting subject, which people interpret differently, for sake of perhaps gaining greater clarity - or just for people to mull over.
I didn't think the bigots would come. I didn't expect the heteronormative nazis to come out in force. I thought this was a place safe from the neanderthals.
But I was wrong. And like a fool I fanned the flames, getting on my own high horse against the bigots.
This is why the world is wrong. It's full of neanderthals.

Thanks for your contributions to the threads anyway, which I found really interesting. I've just quit posting any more. I didn't come to IC to fall out with people or to receive abuse or get involved in slanging matches. Let them have their victories. But just wanted to you to know I really appreciated what you wrote and for bringing it into the public forum. Being normal isn't a virtue, but indicates a lack of courage. | |

Of course, the opposite side to that argument could consist of replacing "neanderthals/bigots/nazis" with "pseudo-intellectual politically-correct liberals". The whole point of debate & discussion, is to welcome an exchange of views with those people who do have opposite views. There is a difference between debate about different ways of looking at things, and insensitivity towards people's feelings. "I can't conceal the way I'm healed, the pleasure I feel when I have to deal with the mercy in you"
