How is it possible to have won the lottery when no ticket has been bought?
I received an email informing me of a BIG win today. Ain't i lucky?
If only it weren't a hoax!

Its not a hoax. Its a scam. If you reply you will get another e mail assuring you of your win and giving you an authentication certificate. You need to rply with your name, address and telephone number. (No harm there) Next you are informed that Fed-Ex will deliver your cheque, but for security could you complete the new form and send it to the Fed-Ex courier This form wants a copy (I assume you have to scan it in) of your passport or driving licence so that on delivery you will be able to show the original in order to collect the winnings. Thats the last you will hear of it. However, with your name, address, telephone number and either driving licence or passport number the person behind the scam now has enough information to obtain "new" passports and / or driving licenses which can be sold to illegal immigrants. Very clever and subtle. Dont fall for it | |
