My domain name for my personal Art site is up for renewal again and I dont think I will renew it. Instead, I would like to come up with a new name and new site. A complete overhaul.
I no longer feel the need to be associated by name, I would rather display my work to its best effect and let it speak for itself.
So what I need is twofold...
Firstly; ideas for the NAME of an art site which covers everything from drawings, paintings, photography, printmaking and publicity posters
Secondly; my web capabilities are limited to say the least. So the help of a WEB DESIGNER/someone with better knowledge of how to create and build websites (under the supervision of a picky fussy stubborn bitch)would be greatly appreciated
Please please please help me out with some ideas for starters. It needs to be relatively simple, memorable, intelligent etc etc...

The point is not to echo or reflect the original one in any way. I want a fresh look and a fresh feel to the site, so I dont feel it would be appropriate to view the old one beforehand. Renew the old domain anyway. Assuming you're not with a bunch of total cowboys it should only cost you a tenner or so. Think of a new domain at your leisure. When that's up and running just do a 301 redirect from the old site to the new. That way, you don't lose out on any inbound links from search engines or bookmarks or stuff. Geek? Moi?

Ideally I'd like to do it myself! I am not too proficient in that area however, and would appreciate the expertise of someone who is. I'm not asking for someone to do it for me as I wouldn't be comfortable with that. I would like some help though! More importantly, I'm trying to brainstorm potential site names... it's hard to think up names if you have given us little info on what it's about, or what you are about. either bare yourself to us here, or go to a professional who will be able to tease it out of your head for remarkably little dosh. i don't know if you are vamp or little house on the prairie.

That's not the point. Suppose someone sees an image online. And they think: "That's really fab. I wonder if I could buy that?" They click on the link. And it takes them to an extinct domain. You've just lost a potential sale or commission. But if that link redirects them to your new site then who knows...
