Maria is back tomorrow night and i'm ready for her this time.

the dishes are done, everything that has a surface is polished,the carpets are hoovered, sweet aromas are wafting from nooks and crannies galore, every bit of clothing/sheets/towels has been run through the machine, the hoovering has been done again, mailbox emptied,all my mess is in one corner.

every time i come through the door i give it all the hotel inspector bit and yet i just know that that lovely head will be a shaking from side to side. silent tuts will verge on breaking from her divine throat.

i love her going away for a break,but i just have a picture of her sweeping in , eyes darting faster than jimmy white on a possible 147 and working out how long it will take her to clean the house from scratch.

its not my fault that the ironing is neck deep in the hall cupboard.
