Was excellent!!! Well we set off a little later than planned….not my fault at all!! However, the trip up North was fairly uneventful except for the nasty wind, very windy night. I'm always happy to drive in just about any weather conditions but I really hate wind.
We found York! And as I knew where the Dungeon was we went straight there, managed to park down by the river and wandered back up to the venue. The cloakroom was a bit make do and mend but at least there was one, so no complaints at all. Fabulous venue, very atmospheric, loads of screams and stuff, dark and creepy. For those people who haven't been its well worth a visit if you are in York.
Although it's a fabulous venue I knew we wouldn't be playing, as I couldn't see it lending itself to our type of play, so we didn't take anything with us. We went to socialize and that's exactly what we did. Saw loads of people we knew and some we hadn't seen for a while.
What can I say about the food…well it was bloody marvelous. Absolutely marvelous!!! Without a doubt one of the best buffets I have had at an 'outside' venue. Well done.
All in all an excellent event.

Wasn't it a great night
Well done to all involved in getting it off the ground.
More than just an event - an important part of 'what goes on in Yorkshire' If you always do what you've always done, you will always get what you've always had.

A huge amount of work over a long period of time went into this (when was it first discussed - seems ages ago). An excellent turnout. Superb food (what else would you expect). Many thanks to one and all who put so much into organising the party. Fantasy is great – reality is even better

Yes, I'm very aware how much work goes into organising an event. Got to say they did it very well and it seemed to go without a hitch.
Very very well done one and all. Sweetiejar

York Christmas do was EXCELLENT! It had been along time since i had been there for a pervy do, and it was well worth the wait
Company was excellent, and have to say that athough we aren't from York (or the surrounding area) we made so many new friends, you are all such a friendly bunch i have to say! Most welcoming
The buffet was stunning. I have never, in all my years on the scene, had such a spread that included a whole poached salmon, a turkey to carve, prawns on ice and a fantastic and stunning fruit display...it was marvelous! Hats off to the person/s who did the buffet
Venue was a stunning choice, of course, and although we didn't get to play. Could the organisers perhaps look at this for next year? There were quite a few pieces, but some were being used as coat hangers, rather than there intended use..?
That is my only gripe though. Hats off to the York people for all the organisation that went into it It was a great and memorable night More to follow hopefully?

Couldn't agree more. Most of my favorite people, creepy venue, the best catering in the scene....... subbie heaven.. then it rained and I had to walk in those boots for miles ... still on crutches If you know it in your heart, and feel it in your soul, then it is but a matter of time before you live it ..........

Well, Suzee, the walking in the rain in boots for miles on crutches, must be the masochist in you for you shoulda asked for a lift not saying you would of got one but you could of asked (hahaha - just kidding.
Hey look, for those reading and who don't know me i'm the very embarrassed caterer, thank you for your kind comments, some of you like to wield a flogger or single tail with such professionalism, well i feel the same about presenting food and whilst damn hard work (After 14 hours on my feet I got into bed and laughed and when Julie asked me what was funny I told her my feet and legs hurt so frigging much that if i didn't laugh I would cry!)the pleasure in seeing the buffet getting devoured and the kind comments too give me the satisfaction that I can only imagine many a sub gets from getting into 'Subspace'. It was a honour to be asked to do the buffet for such a fanatastic event and group. Well done to the rest of the team who pulled this maginficent event together in such style - Big thank you to Calic for the use of his Kitchen as mine was 130 miles away lol. Andy
