I've read a few posts on here over past few months of people adoring the feel of the sjambok Im not a pain slut but Im not a big girls blouse either, and I found the one time we played with a sjambok head fuckingly difficult. I've only had a limited experience of them but I've really liked them. Yes, they do hurt but in a good way. I can think of, seemingly, far more innocuous looking things that I would rather not be hit with.  I'd just add that I think it's partly because they look like rather nasty, fuck off things that I like them. If you mean the new-fangled whip type ones, I don't really think they're any worse than a quirt or short singletail.
If however you mean the older type, the ones formally used for corporal punishment, which have a degree of flexibility, but aren't really "whippy", they hurt like fook Stand aside plebians! I am on imperial business. | |

I've got one from SA which is layers of wrapped and melted plastic or polypropeline (something like that anyway) cuts you to ribbons and explains why it's stuck on the bedroom wall and is unlikely to ever be used for play. Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid sideways through the door, thoroughly used, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming..... I have one I picked up a long time ago in the country formerly known as Rhodesia, it's a treasure to use, but I have seen very strong girls go wet eyed at the sight of it. I only use it as a prop these days, partly because it is really quite old. Much nicer is my Russian Nagatchka, I think that's how it's spelled, a wicked little cossack whip from Russia which leaves slim little marks that stay for ages. | |

As stated earlier the new style braided sjambok are a stiff single tail which is a fine BDSM weapon. The original is a carved single piece of rawhide and is used throughout Africa. It is the preferred riot control weapon for many African police forces. A modern version is made in South Africa out of polypropylene and exported to the USA where some enterprising BDSM craftsmen tart it up by giving it a braided grip. A plastic or rawhide sjambok used by an expert can cut the cloths of a standing man with one cut. An unban myth goes along the lines of : --- a police officer who could circumcise a suspect with two cuts. The plastic one is available from Cold Steel in the USA or their agents in the UK.

I was curious to know more about sjamboks, the different types and how they are made. No wonder thay have a special significance to people! Some are made from Hippo or Rhino hide OR "possibly from the penis of either species!" - I kid you not! |
