I knew Dita by reputation and I've seen many photos, the one on the front of midoris bondage book for example 
As for the real Dita, I thought she must be something of a diva-type when, in the press briefing at erotica yesterday, we were told that only a couple of pre-approved photographers may photograph her performance, kind of a snooty thing to do.
However she came out for a photocall for us at 3pm and posed in the usual robotic way while we lit her in flashes, but then she did something, she took a few minutes to look each and every photographer in the eye, she was about 20 metres away and for that one moment when she looked straight in my eyes she and I were the only people on the planet. Thanks for that Mark. I think you have put your finger on one of the elusive reasons why I enjoy photos of Dita so much, and perhaps why she is so popular, apart from looking good in the fabulous corsets and fetish clothes she wears. There are many others who can do that, and by some accounts I've read, she can be a bit of a "Diva" (even a self-proclaimed one), but she does seem to have the knack of being able to look straight through the lens at the photographer/viewer in an intimate way that many other models can't.
